Frequently Asked Question (FAQ).

Having an CAREPOI Medical Folder can make getting the right treatment via web, faster, safer and easier:

  • Online: because a physician of your choice can provide e-Health service (diagnosis, second opinion etc.) via an real-time innovative  collaborative procedure.
  • faster – because doctors and nurses and other healthcare providers will not have to spend time searching for past treatment information;
  • safer – because authorized healthcare providers can view your important healthcare information, including any allergies and vaccinations and the treatment you have received; and
  • easier – because you will not have to remember the results of tests you have had, or all the medications you have been prescribed.

Yes, you do if you have a active paid subscription. Medical Folders are personally controlled and it is up to you if you wish to have one or not. If you choose not to have a Medical Folder, you will still have the same access to the health system as you currently do.

Medical records are often stored in different locations by different healthcare providers. With a CAREPOI Medical Folder, you can access an online summary of your information wherever you have access to the internet.

Your CAREPOI Medical Folder has strong security and privacy safeguards – you will have a login, password and OTP to access your record. You can also see who has accessed or updated your Medical Folder. If you feel someone has inappropriately accessed your Medical Folder you can contact the helpline by calling +302615008003.

Your CAREPOI Medical Folder will not replace your existing records, but when you see a doctor, get a new prescription or visit a specialist, information can be added to your CAREPOI Medical Folder. Over time, this will build up an overview of your health, which will help you and your doctors take even better care of you.

Your doctor will continue to take and review notes when you have a consultation, and this detailed information will sit within local clinical information systems.

You can register for a CAREPOI Medical Folder now or anytime.

Individuals seeking health care can register for an paid Subscription.

  • when you set up your record, you will be able to choose whether you want information collected by all your Collaborators and medical records (e.g. immunisation for children up to the age of seven);
  • clinical documents can be stored about your health – written and uploaded by your healthcare providers or GPs, Hospitals and may include a Shared Health Summary, an Event Summary or a hospital discharge summary; and
  • personal documents can also be stored that hold information recorded by you or your Authorised Representative about your own health, including a personal health summary and personal health notes.

When you first log on to your CAREPOI Medical Folder , you may choose to add information, including emergency contact details, any allergies you have or medication you are taking, your Indigenous status, if you have.

Your CAREPOI Medical Folder will build up over time. As you do exams at POI Stations or as you visit GP or your Healthcare Provider Organisations data added to the it. More information, including specialist and referral letters, can be added by your doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers involved in your care.  CAREPOI Medical Folder, during a session,  allow your online doctor to enter information about your consultations and treatment. This information could also include a family medical history that you have provided to a healthcare provider.

A Timeline Summary in your eHealth record is an overview of your healthcare status at a particular point in time, developed by your ‘Nominated Healthcare Provider’ – usually your GP. This is particularly useful if you have complex health needs or receive care from different doctors and other healthcare providers. The Timeline summary is helpful for new doctors or other healthcare providers you may see, as it provides a clinically relevant overview of your health, and means that you will not need to remember or repeat details of all previous medications, important test results and other treatment you may have received.

Your Nominated Collaborator is the healthcare provider who agrees with you to develop and manage your CAREPOI Medical Folder. For most people, the Nominated Healthcare Provider is likely to be their GP – this is because a GP is usually most involved in an individual’s ongoing, coordinated care.

Your Nominated Healthcare Provider is decided by mutual agreement by a drag and drop process at your CAREPOI Medical Folder. If you wish to change your Nominated Healthcare Provider you can remove the current and add another doctor or healthcare provider. You do not need to have a Nominated Healthcare Provider in order to have an CAREPOI Medical Folder

The CAREPOI Medical folder has capacity to include pathology (e.g. a blood test) and diagnostic imaging (e.g. an ultrasound) reports and data.

Healthcare providers using the CAREPOI Medical folder will be able to access to your pathology and diagnostic imaging reports – helping support clinical decisions in diagnosis, treatment and care.

The Prescriptions are available in CAREPOI Medical folder. This feature was added to make the prescribing and dispensing of medication a safer, more effective part of healthcare.

This view shows in detail the medications you have been prescribed, including the brand and ingredient names, the dose of the medication, and the direction for consumption. Similar information is also displayed in the view as your medications are dispensed.

This gives you access to detailed information about your medications, and will particularly benefit those users with high healthcare needs who use multiple medications. People will also benefit from better health outcomes over time, as healthcare providers increasingly access this information through CAREPOI Medical folder which, in turn, will support better clinical decision making.

Medication information can only be under the Prescriptions in your CAREPOI Medical folder if the prescribing clinician (for example, your GP) or the dispensing health provider (for example, your pharmacist) is participating in the CAREPOI Medical folder and has the necessary compatible software.
